“There is no end to the good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit.” – Colin Powell

Coming from a family of law enforcemnet, I always wanted to be a Worcester cop but then one day when I was 16 I started going to the old Worcester Courthouse and began watching court cases. From arraignments in Worcester District Court to major crimes trials in Worcester County Superior Court. It was then when my mind shifted from wanting to be a police officer to wanting to be a crime beat reporter.

Gary Murray (RIP) who was a great court reporter for the Worcester Telegram & Gazette was a great mentor and person to talk with when I needed answers or help with something in court. I tell everyone that I navigated my way through some rough waters, because of Gary Murray.

Being a crime beat reporter is a criminal justice journalist whose focus is on investigative journalism and criminal justice issues. After 25 years I have moved from covering local criminal justice issues to becoming a nationally recognized hard-hitting criminal justice journalist with a passion for telling stories others might be reluctant to tell, always chasing the next crime scene and the next major crimes case.

I have covered some high-profile crime cases, including Marion Knight Jr., Conor McGregor, Winona Ryder, Christopher Brown, Lindsay Lohan, Robert Kelly, Peter Hernandez, Khloe Kardashian, Quinnen Williams, Bill Kapri, Clifford Harris, Jr. and Harvey Weinstein.

As a criminal justice journalist, you gotta be able to build relationships with a lot people and I take pride in the relationships that I have built over the years with individuals in our judicial system, in public safety and even victims of crime who have thanked me for giving a voice to people who may not otherwise be heard.

In addition to being a criminal justice journalist, I am a Patient Advocate at UCM-EDCI and a Victim Advocate who has personally advocated for crime victims in several high profile criminal cases. I also have a passion for covering sports and other news stories as well as getting involved in social justice and community issues.

But life can’t be all about work. I love to be outside camping, hiking, snowboarding and traveling – especially when it involves the ocean and a nice beach.
